Residential Kitchen Objective: These clients wanted to renovate their kitchen completely, using as many eco-friendly materials as possible. Indoor air quality during the construction process was also very important to them, as they were preparing their home for their newborn son. Solution: After several meetings, Impact and the client put together a project plan, detailing environmental considerations. Impact was able to retain a majority of the existing walls and framing, which cuts down on construction debris. The project was also able to leverage salvaged appliances, low VOC paints and adhesives, and cork flooring – a rapidly renewable material. To meet the client’s indoor air quality needs, Impact was careful to seal off the workspace completely during construction.
