Condominium Renovation

Since this project was in one of the oldest residential buildings in the District, Impact had to work carefully to remove the old walls, pipes, and wiring without disturbing any of the adjacent apartments. With architectural plans in hand, Impact opened up the living space, creating a much greater sense of connection and connectedness throughout the home. Both the kitchen and living room were redesigned, allowing the owner to flexibly alter the layout by simply using moveable screens and doors.

The result is a living space that welcomes the natural light of the southern exposure throughout the apartment during the day, while providing the homeowner with the ability to transform the apartment according to her preferences during the evenings and when hosting guests.

Of course all of this was done using guidelines we follow on almost every project: using low VOC paint, reducing landfill waste by donating doors, fixtures, etc., and always ensuring our construction methods are as efficient as possible.
